Written and directed by Michele, 'Rain Catcher' is a thriller noir short film produced in partnership with Shorts on Tap and Yellow Pill. It stars rising British actor Dudley O’Shaughnessy, Jo Hartley, and Marcus Taylor. The film follows a voyeuristic photographer who is on a quest to uncover the identity of his stalker, a mysterious man who appears in his pictures.
The film has gone on to receive phenomenal success and has been selected in numerous Oscar-qualifying and BAFTA-qualifying festivals including Aesthetic Short Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festival, and Stiges Film Festival where it won the prestigious Silver Melies award and was nominated for the Golden Melies 2020.
Following the success of the short film, Michele has confirmed that 'Rain Catcher' will be turned into a feature film, with the script currently in development!
Since graduating from our Filmmaking Diploma in 2010, Michele has been an active part of LFA's filmmaking community and we were delighted to help support the production of 'Rain Catcher'. Talking of his collaboration with LFA, Michele commented:
