This event is exclusive to LFA Filmmakers' Club community (current LFA students and alumni).
We are thrilled to announce our series of LFA Filmmakers’ Club events celebrating the ‘Resurgence of Short Films’!
Our first event will be with the filmmakers of multiple award-winning short film ‘Rain Catcher’; LFA Alumnus Michele Fiascaris (Writer/Director) and Filippo Polesel (Writer/Producer).
'Rain Catcher' is a thriller noir short film starring rising British actor Dudley O’Shaughnessy, Jo Hartley, and Marcus Taylor. The film follows a voyeuristic photographer who is on a quest to uncover the identity of his stalker, a mysterious man who appears in his pictures.
Distributed by HBO, HBOGo and available on Amazon Prime, ‘Rain Catcher’ has been selected by several Oscar-qualifying and BAFTA-qualifying film festivals, has won the prestigious 'Silver Melies' award, and has been nominated for the ‘Golden Melies’ for Best European Short of Fantastic Genre of 2020 at Sitges Film Festival. Following the success of the short film, 'Rain Catcher' is currently being developed into a feature film!
Michele and Filippo will be sharing in-depth insight into their festival and distribution strategies, budgeting and financing, team development, the entire production process, as well as how to develop a short film into a feature!
Since graduating from our Filmmaking Diploma in 2010, Michele has been an active part of LFA's filmmaking community and LFA were delighted to help support the production of 'Rain Catcher'. Talking of his collaboration with LFA, Michele commented:
